Day 7

From the best to the worst today.  I got up and out early to avoiud yesterday's lateness.  The
early hours are comfortably cool so riding ws comfortable.  I  passed through a section of forest which used to be an old plantation.  As you can see, the road is ovehung with trees, palms line the way and the birds were singing.  I started to have a sense of anti-bellum life in Florida.

Florida has an active pro-bicycle policy.  They also have a lot of accidents.  But they can ride yeart round.

This is the view while riding the bike.  Notice bike computer to the left at an angle.  The map sits atop the handlebars.  Adventure Cycling Association has published maps for this and varius other long-distance routes.

The other thing that made it great today was that the wind was behind me.  These flags are flying to the north.  It made for easy riding.

St. Augustine.  The old Spanish fort.

The real thing!

54 miles.  Total--447
